Video: OCVarsity Week in Review 2/1/10

Highlights from 1/25-1/31 include a top ten boys basketball matchup between Dana Hills and Capistrano Valley.

Also, San Clemente’s Dani Weatherholt picks up her first hat trick as she scores three goals in the final ten minutes of the game against Tesoro.

In girls water polo, San Clemente takes on Mission Viejo, and boys wrestling follows the number one team in the county Laguna Hills.

Football Video: Middlebrooks brilliant but Los Alamitos defeats Fountain Valley

Video: Santa Margarita dedicates hockey season to students killed in crash

Santa Margarita’s inaugural hockey season was dedicated to the memory of former students Zachary Raffety and Mark Motley, who were killed in a car crash this past Spring.

On Saturday night, banners were hung, and jerseys were given to their parents. It was an emotional night as the Eagles fought hard but lost to JSerra, 5-2. Video by Jonathan Khamis, video.ocregister.com

Football video: Newport Harbor celebrates with the bell

Newport Harbor defeated Corona del Mar with ease on Thursday night, winning 37-6. The Sailors played nearly flawless football, as Cedric Whitaker rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown. Football video: Kevin Telles’ final game

Garden Grove High’s Kevin Telles collapsed late in a game last week (Sept. 11) against Westminster and later died.

A video of that game captures the senior linebacker/fullback in action before his tragic injury. Some of that video from the game and interviews with Telles’ teammates and head coach are included in a video by OCVarsity.com’s Jonathan Khamis.
