San Clemente two-time All-County offensive lineman Kyle Murphy has won the Glenn Davis award from the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, the all-star game in San Antonio announced Friday.
The award honors a West player for his community service, education and athletic achievement. Murphy is pictured left with Gen. Raymond T. Odierno, left, and former NFL star tight end Shannon Sharpe at the awards dinner Friday night.
Davis was a Heisman Trophy-winning running back at Army in the 1940s.
The U.S. Army All-American Bowl will air live on NBC on Saturday at 10 a.m. The uncommitted Murphy has indicated that he will not make a college decision during the game.
