Records: Troy 3-1; OLu 2-2

Impact: The match was a good barometer for the Lancers. The Warriors are a tough bunch, and will help OLu prepare for Trinity League action. Troy is currently out of the top 10 for the first time in a few seasons. They are among a handful of teams on the cusp. Continued improvement could have them inside the top 10 comes season's end.

Match of the day: Allison Radde (Troy) vs. Megan Sandford (Lutheran). Radde entered the match unbeaten so far this season. Sandford had a 5-4 lead, yet Radde was able to take the final three games and the set, 7-5.

High fives to ...: Troy's Camille DeLeon and Victoria Vo. The Warriors' No. 2 and 3 singles players lost just 13 games in six sets.

Note: OLu played without No. 1 singles player Kaitlyn Christian, who was in New Mexico competing in an ITF event.

Freshman Caryl Hernandez is this year's case in point.

He teams up with senior and defending Freeway League champ Justin Thompson for a formidable 1-2 singles punch.

Coach Ryan Young loves Hernandez's calm demeanor. His facial expressions rarely change from point to point. Hernandez moves well on the court and has a smooth-stroking forehand.

He is currently ranked No. 35 in the USTA So. Cal's boys 16 and under rankings. He finished No. 7 in the boys 14 in 2008 before moving up to 16s for '09. He first picked up a racket at 3, but got serious at 8, he said.

Hernandez said he was looking forward to playing high school tennis since the first day in school back in September.

"It's great," he said. "My teammates are really supportive. It makes it fun. It's a new tennis chapter."

Says Thompson of Hernandez, "He reminds me of myself. He has great assests. He has much potential."

Records: Troy 3-0; Northwood 3-1

Impact: The county rankings are should to be mixed up after this one. Northwood was No. 4 and Troy was No. 7. The new rankings will reflect Wednesday's results.

Key set: Troy's No. 1 doubles team of Adam Chaffee and Daniel Yang beat Northwood's Eugene Kang and Parker Jung 7-5. It gave the Warriors a 5-1 lead after Round 1, instead of a 4-2 advantage.

Sweeps: Troy received sweeps from No. 1 singles player Justin Thompson, No. 3 singles player and freshman Caryl Hernandez and No. 3 doubles Andrew Yu-Chih and Greg Paik.

High five to ...: Warriors freshman Caryl Hernandez. With the match's outcome already decided, Hernandez trailed Timberwolves No. 1 player Junya Yoshida 3-5 before rallying for the 7-6 (3) victory.

The game was scoreless at the half.

Records: Troy 18-4-7; Fullerton 18-6-4

Impact: It was the third meeting between intra-city and Freeway League rivals. Fullerton won the first meeting and the teams tied in the second. The Indians run was the best in girls soccer history at the school. No team had reached the semis before.

Troy advances to the final, where it faces another city and Freeway League rival Sunny Hills. The Lancers finished first in league, Fullerton second, and Troy third.

How it looked: Fullerton had the majority of chances in the first half, playing a better possession game.

The game evened out more in the second half. Troy grabbed the lead 10 minutes after halftime, but the Indians scored with under five minutes remaining to force overtime.

Fullerton played better in the first overtime, whereas Troy had more chances in the second overtime.

Who scored: Troy's Mary Green headed in a cross from Maya Jackson for the 1-0 lead.

Fullerton connected in very similar fashion with time running out. Sierra Mack headed in the tying goal off of Domi Richardson's cross to make it 1-1.

Penalty kicks: Each team made their first kick, then Katie Rumfola made her first save, diving to her right to block the shot. Troy made its second shot.

Fullerton made its third shot, as did Troy.

Rumfola made her second block, again diving right for the save. Then Lorin Wathen converted the game-clincher.

High five to ...: Lorin Wathen and Lauren Dandie. Their work in the backfield was huge in keeping Mack to only one score.
