Add Capistrano Valley’s swim program to the many teams that have produced a Harlem Shake video:
Capistrano Valley’s Steve Yancey claimed the boys swim coach of the year award from the California Coaches Association over the weekend in San Diego.
Yancey has guided the Cougars to three of the past four CIF-SS Division 1 titles. Capistrano Valley was the Division 1 runner-up in 2011.
He also is one of the rare county coaches to have won CIF titles in swimming and water polo. Yancey led San Clemente’s boys water polo team to the CIF Division 4-A crown in 1991.
