Mater Dei vs. St. Bonaventure of Ventura, a Pac-5 Division semifinal Friday, is at Ventura High School. The game has a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Keep an eye on that starting time. A 6 p.m. kickoff time would be helpful to Mater Dei’s travel needs. As the game is on the day after Thanksgiving traffic will not be an issue. St. Bonventure’s local following probably would not be hindered by a 6 p.m. kickoff.

St. Bonaventure of Ventura vs. Santa Margarita, a Pac-5 Division second-round playoff game, is at Trabuco Hills High on Friday at 7 p.m.
The venue at Trabuco Hills is superior to Santa Margarita’s usual home field, Saddleback College, in many ways, including sight lines for spectators. Trabuco has artificial turf, and Saddleback’s is natural grass.
If you park in the parking structure at Trabuco Hills, download on your cell phone a bright-flashlight app. The lights were turned off in that structure late Friday night, and it was very dark. I would have walked into a concrete pillar without my mega-duty cell phone light.

The St. Bonaventure-Santa Margarita game, a Pac-5 second-round game, probably will be played at Trabuco Hills High on Friday. Look for finalization on that Tuesday morning.

VENTURA – Santa Margarita’s small visiting crowd was on its feet and roaring. The Eagles unveiled their new pass-happy offense tonight at Larrabee Stadium, and, for a moment, there was a lot to smile about. That lasted for about five plays.
