Heading into this week, Fullerton looked to be on cruise control, headed toward an easy first-place finish.

However, that was before Sonora swept a two-game series from the Indians, finishing it with an 8-2 victory Friday at Fullerton High.

The Raiders (14-8, 8-3) are one game behind the first-place Indians (15-7, 9-2), who had been undefeated in league play before this week.

Both teams have four games remaining, and the Raiders, having won two of three from Fullerton, own the tiebreaker should they finish tied.

More details to come later tonight.

La Habra (13-5, 1-0) at No. 3 Sonora (15-1, 1-0)
Wednesday, 7 p.m.

Outlook: Is La Habra in the house? The first meeting in the city rivalry has Jordan Sachs and the Highlanders traveling to face Sonora, which is led by guard Chris Bearden.

La Habra opened league play with a 79-53 victory over Buena Park that included a 30-point effort by Sachs.

Sachs is averaging nearly 30 points a night (29.4). Who will draw the defensive assignment on him? Who wants it?

Sonora defeated a tough Sunny Hills team, 55-43, in its opener. Bearden had an off-night shooting (2 of 10 from the field) and finished with eight points, three assists and two steals. He did have 12 rebounds ... and he’s 6-1.

With all the focus on Bearden, it might be easy for opponents to forget about Marcus Farrand, but they shouldn't. Farrand is averaging 16.5 points and has the potential to drop a double-double on you just for showing up.

What a first meeting this is going to be.

If you live in La Habra and you’re not at this game, then you should be ashamed of yourself.
