El Toro’s boys water polo team beat Mater Dei, 9-5, to reach the semifinals of the North-South Challenge on Saturday. Orange County’s top-ranked team will play the winner of the second-round match between Sacred Heart Prep and Santa Barbara.
In other news later Friday night, the attorney for Corona del Mar goalie Martin Babovic said he will be in court Monday morning for reconsideration in a case that left the Serbian ineligible for varsity play.
