January 3rd, 2013, 12:32 pm by

Mission Viejo left tackle and Cal commit Erik Bunte will miss Friday’s Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl because of an ankle injury, the senior said after practice Wednesday at Santa Ana Stadium.

The former Santa Margarita player sprained his ankle last Friday while playing basketball.

Bunte has endured his share of injuries recently. He missed Mission Viejo’s Pac-5 quarterfinal loss against Long Beach Poly because of an injury to the same ankle. Last offseason, he also had shoulder surgery.
