San Clemente quarterback Sean Donnelly will be back in the lineup when the Tritons take on El Toro in the South Coast League opener for both schools on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Trabuco Hills High, Tritons coach Jaime Ortiz confirmed on Wednesday.
Donnelly injured his throwing shoulder and was forced to come out of the game when San Clemente defeated La Costa Canyon of Carlsbad, 21-10, on Sept. 14.
Donnelly has been out of the starting lineup the past two weeks when the Tritons suffered losses to Newport Harbor, 28-7, and Edison, 31-3.
“Sean Donnelly is good to go,” Ortiz said in a text. “(He) had a great week of practice.”
Donnelly was 28 of 42 for 493 yards and seven touchdowns with one interception in helping San Clemente (4-2) get off to a 4-0 start.
