(8-5 overall, 4-1 and 2nd place in Sea View League in 2008)

County football watchers know about the two big-named returning backs, Josh Quezada of La Habra and Anthony Wilkerson of Tustin. Don’t forget about Mustangs senior Shane DeCillo. He was the county’s No. 8 rusher last season when he ran for 1,552 yards. Trabuco Hills has some key vacancies to fill, including at quarterback. But the Mustangs have good momentum from last season’s Southwest Division playoffs, when they beat Valencia in a first-round road game and then beat third-seeded Western in the second round before losing by five points on the road to eventual division champion La Habra.

(9-2 overall, 5-0 and 1st place in Sea View League in 2008)

The Knights have a lot from which to recover. They were the top-seeded team in the ’08 Southwest Division playoffs and lost by 28 points to Pacifica in the first round. Then they lost a lot of top players to graduation, like ’08 league offensive MVP quarterback Zach Griffith and league defensive MVP Jordan Winger. Still, Foothill is probably at worst the second-best team in a very good league. The Knights have a prospect at quarterback, senior Aaron Dupin, 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds, who transferred from Henderson, Nevada. Foothill's freshman team was 10-0 last year.
