Pac-5 Division O.C. team analysis
Here are the Orange County teams in the Pac-5 Division:
South Coast League
SAN CLEMENTE (4-3, 1-1) VS. TESORO (3-4, 0-2)
Where, when: Tesoro High, Thursday, 7 p.m.
Outlook: Both teams have lost to Dana Hills, and last week Tesoro got hammered by Mission Viejo, 60-14. This is a crucial game for both. Mission Viejo and Dana Hills are going to finish in the top two positions in the final South Coast standings (Dana-at-Mission is Nov. 13, the final week of the regular season). That leaves one guaranteed playoff berth in the South Coast League, and the winner of this game is in the driver’s seat for that No. 3 spot.
La Habra and San Clemente played what might be the game of the season, and perhaps one of the best of the decade, on Friday night, with the Highlanders pulling out a 29-28 victory in the final seconds.

San Clemente quarterback Chase Rettig, who has committed to Boston College, is not expected to play in the Sept. 4 season-opening game at El Camino of Oceanside.
Tritons coach Eric Patton said Rettig has a back injury and is questionable for the game.
Rettig, a transfer from La Salle of Pasadena, is expected to be back in time for San Clemente's second game Sept. 18 at home against Trabuco Hills.

What happened: The Tritons held on in four games to defeat Tesoro, 25-19, 25-19, 25-23, 25-18, in South Coast League play at THS.

Fighting Irish staffers were at San Clemente today.
They were there to work out quarterback Chase Rettig, a a 6-foot-3, 195-pound junior who transferred to San Clemente from La Salle of Pasadena in January.

There stood the Tritons new quarterback, a transfer from La Salle, Chase Rettig, in the middle of Howard Jones Field on USC's campus at Sunday's Nike Camp waiting for his turn in the rotation.
