State athlete of the year

Cal Hi-Sports selected Khalfani Muhammad of Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks as its California male athlete of the year for the 2011-12 school year. Muhammad was a football and track standout at Notre Dame.

Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks controversy

This was posted by the Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks coach. The team was ranked No. 7 in boys 4AA Division, but is not in the playoffs because, according to the CIF-Southern Section office, the CIF-SS office did not receive an at-large berth petition from ND of SO.
