Football recruiting: Tesoro reports five signings, one commitment

February 6th, 2013, 10:21 am by

Pac-5 member Tesoro is reporting four football signings this morning — three to FCS schools. Here’s the list:

Running back Nate Tago inks with Portland State, safety Nick Crouch signs with Sacramento State, quarterback Matt Adam signs with Indiana State and offensive lineman Clayton Eubank inks with Brown. That’s a solid group of FCS teams in great conferences.

Offensive lineman Aaron Lopiccolo (5-11, 253) has signed with Division II Bentley. Kicker Zach Schottenfeld is headed to Utah as preferred walk-on.

Football recruiting: Tesoro safety picks up second offer

November 29th, 2012, 11:26 am by

Standout Tesoro safety Nick Crouch (6-1, 200) has picked up his second scholarship offer, and it’s from South Dakota State – another Jackrabbits team to watch this weekend.

South Dakota State plays at North Dakota State in the second round of the FCS playoffs on Saturday. The Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits, of course, play Mater Dei on Saturday in the Pac-5 Division final at Angel Stadium.

South Dakota State features a handful of O.C. products but none of the young players are making big-time contributions yet. But keep an eye on out on South Dakota State, which is recruiting hard in Orange County.

Crouch also has been offered by Sacramento State.

Football: Tesoro’s Eubank commits to Brown

September 12th, 2012, 7:52 pm by

Tesoro center Clay Eubank committed to Brown, Titans football coach Brian Barnes announced on Wednesday night.

Eubank, a 6-4, 288-pound senior, hasn’t played so far this seaqson because of an ankle injury, but Barnes said he will return to the lineup next week against Chaparral of Temecula.

“He’s always wanted to be an Ivy Leaguer,” Barnes said. “This going to be a great fit for him.”

Barnes also said running back Nate Tago, a 6-0, 210-pound senior, and safety Nick Crouch, a 6-1, 202-pound senior, received offers from Sacramento State on Wednesday. Sacramento State knocked off Colorado this past weekend.
