The Marmonte League, which is now part of the Pac-5 Division for the CIF-SS football playoffs, has divided itself into two leagues for football — Marmonte East and Marmonte West.
There are five teams per league.
East schools — Royal, Newbury Park, Simi Valley, Westlake and St. Bonaventure.
West schools — Moorpark, Thousand Oaks, Agoura, Oaks Christian and Calabasas.
Plenty of good teams in a variety of sports are in the Marmonte League.
The first-place teams from the West and the East will play Nov. 2 in the Marmonte championship game.
The top two finishers in the Marmonte League East and the top two in the Marmonte West receive guaranteed entry into the Pac-5 playoffs. There will be 14 automatic qualifiers in the Pac-5 Division, with room for two at-large teams in the 16-team playoff bracket.
