Laguna Hills Bobby Morales (130) pinned Matt Guevara of Citrus Hills in the finals of the Mann Classic Wednesday at CS Fullerton. Morales shared lower weight MVP honors with teammate Juan Jaime. Read more about the tournament.
Mitch Newcomer (Laguna Hills) will wrestle at Embry-Riddle, Hawks coach Cliff Jarmie said. Newcomer placed third at 135 pounds last season at the CIF State Tournament.
Andrew Schulte, formerly of Calvary Chapel, has transferred and enrolled at Laguna Hills, his father Aaron said in an email.

I just received word from Eric Patten, our reporter who is covering the Coastal Division at Whittier High, that the Hawks have already clinched the title. The Hawks have 11 wrestlers still alive and nine in first place matches at their respective weights.

Cliff Jarmie recorded his 400th career dual victory Thursday night when the Hawks, ranked second in the county and in CIF-SS Division I, defeated Pacific Coast League rival Irvine, 54-10.
The victory also sealed Jarmie’s 22nd consecutive league championship.
Jarmie, who became coach in 1984, hasn’t lost a league dual since 1987.
