Mitch Newcomer (Laguna Hills) will wrestle at Embry-Riddle, Hawks coach Cliff Jarmie said. Newcomer placed third at 135 pounds last season at the CIF State Tournament.

Tapped out: Laguna Hills has clinched team title

The Hawks have 11 wrestlers still alive and nine in first place matches at their respective weights.

Laguna Hills' Cliff Jarmie reaches milestone

Cliff Jarmie recorded his 400th career dual victory Thursday night when the Hawks, ranked second in the county and in CIF-SS Division I, defeated Pacific Coast League rival Irvine, 54-10.
The victory also sealed Jarmie's 22nd consecutive league championship.
Jarmie, who became coach in 1984, hasn't lost a league dual since 1987.

The dual is supposed to have the top two wrestlers in each weight class, from the rankings before Five Counties face off. However, several have bowed out. But the show will go on ...
