On Thursday, Sachs suffered a seizure at practice and was taken by ambulance to St. Jude Hospital in Fullerton. La Habra coach Mark Stewart said Sachs was given intravaneous fluids and had a CAT scan, which revealed no problems.

The doctor's conclusion, Stewart said, was dehydration. Sachs was released from the hospital at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, and spent the night at his home. Sachs was at school on Friday.

Sachs had not had a seizure before, Stewart said.

Sachs, a senior who is the county's leading scorer at 28 points a game, scored 34 on Wednesday in the Highlanders' 61-56 first-round playoff victory over Dos Pueblos of Coleta.

Stewart said Sachs had spent part of Thursday helping unload from a trailer set pieces for the school's drama presentation.

Outlook: Is La Habra in the house? The first meeting in the city rivalry has Jordan Sachs and the Highlanders traveling to face Sonora, which is led by guard Chris Bearden.

La Habra opened league play with a 79-53 victory over Buena Park that included a 30-point effort by Sachs.

Sachs is averaging nearly 30 points a night (29.4). Who will draw the defensive assignment on him? Who wants it?

Sonora defeated a tough Sunny Hills team, 55-43, in its opener.  Bearden had an off-night shooting (2 of 10 from the field) and finished with eight points, three assists and two steals. He did have 12 rebounds ... and he’s 6-1.

With all the focus on Bearden, it might be easy for opponents to forget about Marcus Farrand, but they shouldn't. Farrand is averaging 16.5 points and has the potential to drop a double-double on you just for showing up.

What a first meeting this is going to be.
