Football recruiting: OLu’s Lopez, Mission’s Redfield get video coverage

Orange Lutheran offensive lineman John Lopez — a UCLA commit pictured, left– and Mission Viejo safety/wide receiver Max Redfield — a USC commit — will appear in an upcoming “Get2 the Game”  video series featuring 40 of the top senior football players in the nation.

The second-year series will begin in September, though the distribution schedule of the videos has not been announced. Some of the videos will be packaged into coverage of national all-star games, said Andy Hayman of Mindshare Entertainment, producer of the videos. The videos are expected to be available on YouTube.

The videos will focus on the dreams of high school players and their support systems, Hayman said.

Football recruiting: Orange Lutheran’s Lopez makes his decision (updated)

Orange Lutheran senior offensive lineman John Lopez third in OCVarsity’s recruiting rankings for 2013 – committed to UCLA on Wednesday night.

Lopez (6-6, 310) was highly recruited by Pac-12 schools and several others but in the end picked the school that offered him before he even played a varsity game: UCLA.

Lopez said he picked the Bruins for three main reasons. He wanted to play in-state, close to his family. He was impressed with the UCLA’s new coaching staff. And he was excited to join a program he believes is on the way up.

“I really felt having my family close helped me in the decision,” Lopez said. “And being on the ground floor of a great football program to come.”

Lopez picked UCLA over Washington.

Football recruiting: Orange Lutheran’s Lopez headed to elite camp

Orange Lutheran senior-to-be offensive lineman John Lopez (6-5, 320) will be the lone Orange County player — and lone offensive lineman from the Golden State — at the inaugural Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge later this week in Atlanta.

The invite camp starts Friday and mainly features recruits from the class of 2013. Lopez was third in the latest OCVarsity rankings for 2013.

Football recruiting: Orange Lutheran’s Lopez collects offer No. 11

Orange Lutheran offensive lineman John Lopez (6-5, 320) has picked up his 11th scholarship offer on Thursday, his father, Marc, reports.

Oregon State has offered the rising junior, ranked third in the OCVarsity class of 2013 recruiting rankings.

Lopez now has seven Pac-12 offers: Oregon State, UCLA, Arizona State, Washington, Washington State, Colorado and Utah.

He also has offers from Florida State, San Diego State, Arkansas and Vanderbilt.

Football recruiting: Orange Lutheran’s Lopez grabs second SEC offer

Orange Lutheran offensive lineman John Lopez (6-5, 320) has been offered by Vanderbilt, his father, Marc, reports.

Vanderbilt is the second SEC to offer the junior. Arkansas was the first.

Vanderbilt also has offered Mission Viejo defensive back/wide receiver Max Redfield.

Lopez has now has 10 scholarship offers.  His Pac-12 count has reached six: UCLA, Arizona State, Washington, Washington State, Colorado and Utah. He also been offered by Florida State and San Diego State.

He is ranked third in the latest OCVarsity Top 25 rankings for 2013.

Orange Lutheran junior offensive lineman John Lopez (6-5, 320) has landed his first scholarship offer from a SEC school.

Here’s a hint: It’s a program coming off an outstanding 2011 season but one that has been in the news recently because of an affair by the now-ex head coach.

Yes, the Arkansas Razorbacks have offered Lopez, his father, Marc, reports.

Lopez now has nine scholarships offers, including several from the Pac-12.

Orange County’s ever-impressive and deep offensive line class of 2013 keeps churning out the football recruiting news.

Orange Lutheran junior John Lopez (6-5, 320) has added his eighth scholarship offer, including sixth from the Pac-12.

Washington State is the latest program to offer.

Lopez also has Pac-12 offers from Washington, Arizona State, UCLA, Colorado and Utah. He also has scholarship offers from Florida State and San Diego State.

Arizona State has become the fifth Pac-12 program to offer a scholarship to Orange Lutheran junior offensive lineman John Lopez (6-5, 320).

The Sun Devils offered Lopez on Friday, joining a crowded Pac-12 competition for OCVarsity’s No. 3 overall recruit.

Lopez also has Pac-12 offers from UCLA, Washington, Colorado and Utah. San Diego State and Florida State are his non-Pac-12 offers.

Lopez is coming off a strong performance at the Nike Football Training Camp, where he was assertive in drills while being one of the more physical imposing linemen.

Lopez also holds offers from Colorado, Utah, Washington and UCLA from the Pac-12 along with Florida State.

He is third in the latest OCVarsity.com recruiting rankings for 2013.

The Utes became the four Pac-12 program to offer the rising junior.

The 6-foot-5, 320-pound Lopez also has offers from UCLA, Colorado, Washington, plus Florida State.
