Football recruiting: JSerra quarterback commits to UCLA

May 24th, 2012, 9:31 am by

JSerra senior quarterback Jake Hall (6-5, 220) has committed to UCLA as a preferred walk-on, his father, Greg, reports.

Hall was offered a scholarship from UNLV – which landed JSerra wide out/corner Jonavaughn Williams – but the quarterback picked between UCLA and Cal for preferred walk-on spots.

Hall is an intriguing prospect to remember. He has excellent size, a strong arm and has been well-coached. He has worked out with QB guru Steve Clarkson.

JSerra junior defensive back/wide receiver Jonavaughn Williams (6-0, 192) has been offered by Washington, Lions coach Jim Hartigan confirmed Saturday.

Williams is a heck of athlete and might project best at corner or safety at the Division 1-A level. He also has an offer from San Diego State.

Football recruiting: JSerra quarterback attracting interest from ACC

JSerra senior-to-be quarterback Jake Hall (6-5, 195) recently had an on-campus visit from Duke, his father, Greg, reports. Hall also is hearing that Colorado and BYU will be stopping by JSerra for a visit.

Hall is a quarterback to watch in Orange County’s 2012 recruiting class, which appears pretty deep.

He joins Mission Viejo’s Alex Bridgford, San Clemente’s Travis Wilson and perhaps Edison’s Chase Favreau as quarterbacks who could landed I-A scholarships.

Bridgford and Wilson have excellent chances to be early commitments while Favreau may show well in his senior season.

I also like Servite’s Cody Pittman but his 5-foot-11 size could be a tough hurdle with recruiters.
