The Chargers won Game 3 25-18, and the match 3-0.
There's no other way to put it but HB was overmatched. Dos Pueblos has too many weapons.
The Oilers had a great season to even be in this position.

I had one county coach tell me the Chargers would be the best team at Cypress College on Saturday in any division, which includes Los Al and NH.
Dos Pueblos leads HB 2-0, after winning Game 2 25-10.
So far, I'm beyond impressed with the performance from Dos Pueblos.

Dos Pueblos took the opening game 25-12.

This is the first time I have seen the Wopat sisters, Carly and Sam. They are as good as advertised. Both of their serves were booming, and they were ripping kills as well.

But to think Dos Pueblos is two-girl team is a mistake. They have a lefty opposite Taylor Racich, who was lights out as well.

The Sailors won in three. You can read all about that one here.

Here's a look at some other semifinal matches:

Division I-AA semifinal:

No. 2 Los Alamitos 3, No. 3 Mira Costa 1: Jane Croson put down 21 kills to help the Griffins defeat the Mustangs on the road, 27-25, 25-18, 22-25, 25-23, and reach their first CIF final since winning the championship in 2005.

Emily Hartong added 11 kills and Lindsay Lawmaster recorded 16 digs. It’s the second time Los Al won at Mira Costa this season, and Tuesday’s victory snapped the Mustangs consecutive CIF final appearances at 10.

“The girls have been playing with a lot of confidence,” Los Al coach Dave Huber said. “We had as many fans as they did there. That helped ease us and the girls played hard.”

Los Al trailed 16-12 in the opening game before coming back late. Though the Griffins fought back from two games down in the first meeting, taking the opening game Tuesday was a big lift.

“It was huge,” Huber said. “We had a lot of missed opportunities. If we didn’t come back, that could have been a hit to our confidence if we let it slip away.”

In the Division II-AA semifinals:

No. 2 Corona del Mar 3, No. 3 South Torrance 0: The Sea Kings recorded the home sweep over South Torrance, 25-16, 25-21, 25-23, behind 10 kills from Morgan Boukather.

Madie Smith dished out 27 assists and had 13 digs. Corona del Mar is making its second straight CIF final appearance.

In the Division II-A semifinals:

La Canada 3, Troy 2: The Warriors fell in the semifinals, 18-25, 25-19, 26-24, 13-25, 15-11, for the second straight year to La Canada.

In Division IV-AA semifinals:

Whittier Christian 3, Viewpoint 0: Whittier Christian rolled to the sweep, 25-21, 25-15, 25-15, to reach its second straight final. The school's last CIF title came in 2000.

In the Division V-AA semifinals:

Saddleback Valley Christian 3, No. 1 Pacifica Christian 1: SVC knocked off the top seeds in four games, 25-12, 12-25, 25-22, 25-22, with 10 kills from Chelsea Duhs.

What happened: A night after defeating crosstown rival Edison in five-games, the sixth-ranked Oilers downed Mission Viejo in four games, 25-22, 25-20, 20-25, 26-24.

Records: Huntington Beach 2-1; Mission Viejo 0-2

Game 1: HB led 15-8. Mission Viejo rallied to take a 17-15 lead. Oilers regained the lead 18-17. Kellie Turner delivered a kill to break a 22 all tie. Blake Wetzel - who was substituted in to serve - had an ace, then another Turner kill ended the game, 25-22.

Game 2: Oilers built a 19-10 advantage, but again MV made it interesting. The Diablos closed to 22-20 on a spectacular touch shot from Sarah Wilber. However, HB responded with three consecutive points to win, 25-20.

Game 3: Diablos went ahead 5-1 and didn't trail in the game. Oilers tied it at 14. With MV leading 20-19, a critical call in which a Diablos error was voided by an Oilers violation and MV kept the lead, 21-19. Kyra Goodman's kill forced a fourth game, 25-20.

Game 4: HB stayed in front the entire game, but MV tied it late at 23 and 24. A Diablos error gave the Oilers match point, where Aly Torline's sixth block of the night ended the match, 26-24.

Quick analysis: Solid performance on the road by the Oilers a night after winning a big five-game match against Edison. HB can struggle at times with its passing, but when on they are tough to contain. The Diablos did a fantastic job to force a fourth game, and almost a fifth. MV showed lots of character and fight, and was playing without their best player Kaela Goodman, who won't return until league play.

Players of the game: Huntington Beach's Kellie Turner and Haleigh Hampton. The senior outside hitter Turner ended the night with 19 kills, 11 digs and 4 blocks. Hampton had an impressive double-double, finishing with 11 kills and 11 blocks.

Unsung hero: Huntington Beach's Aly Torline. The sophomore opposite had 6 kills, yet it was her 6 timely blocks that were a huge boost to her team's defensive effort.

Dandy in defeat: Mission Viejo's Danielle White. The junior OH/MB did a bit of everything for the Diablos, including finishing with a team-high 12 kills and 3 blocks.
