Lets take some time to welcome the South Coast League teams back to the field this week.
All six teams, and San Juan Hills, will have to make up games that were cancelled Friday because of the Capistrano Unified School District strike.
Those games will be played Saturday or Monday. So all of the teams are looking at having to play three league games in one week sometime soon.
How will it affect their pitching staffs?
St. Margaret’s (12-1) vs. Ontario Christian (7-6)
Saturday, 7:30 p.m. at Ontario Christian High
Outlook: I think it is time to institute a new rule for all East Valley Division games.
St. Margaret’s should be able to host all of its playoff games until somebody in the division defeats the Tartans. I think that is fair. I wouldn’t want colleague Jason Eichelberger to have to travel to Bishop again.
La Mirada (12-1) vs. Garden Grove (13-0)
Friday, 7:30 p.m. at Orange Coast College
Outlook: If you’ve learned anything this season, then you should know to never underestimate the Argonauts.
Edison (13-0) vs. Servite (12-1)
Saturday, 7:30 p.m. at Angel Stadium
Outlook: What a way to end the Pac-5 Division playoffs. Edison, the county’s top ranked team and the top-seed in the playoffs, defeated Lakewood, 37-29.
Servite has walked the tightrope in each of it previous two playoff games. In the second round, the Friars needed a blocked field goal by defensive back John Paul Onorato to preserve a 21-18 victory over Long Beach Poly.
La Habra (12-1) vs. Trabuco Hills (12-1)
Saturday, 2 p.m. at Angel Stadium
Outlook: The third-seeded Mustangs have been to the front door before, but haven’t been able to walk through yet. Is this their year?
Oaks Christian of Westlake Village (13-0) vs. Serra of Gardena (13-0)
Friday, 7:30 p.m. at Serrra High
Outlook: It is the Northwest Division game that everybody has been waiting.
If I didn’t have anything to do, I would certainly go check this one out.
Crenshaw of Los Angeles (13-0) vs. Narbonne of Harbor City (8-5)
Saturday, 1 p.m. at L.A. Coliseum
Outlook: The L.A. City title is on the line and, thankfully, things will not end in a tie like it did last year between San Pedro and Narbonne.

Servite (11-1) vs. Mission Viejo (12-0)
Friday, 7:30 p.m. at Cerritos College
Outlook: Part I of the Pac-5 Division can’t-miss, must-see, drop-what-you’re-doing semifinal features Trinity League champions Servite against the South Coast League champs Mission Viejo.

Edison (12-0) vs. Lakewood (11-1)
Saturday, 7:30 p.m. at Orange Coast College
Outlook: In this one, you have the mighty Chargers on one side of the field. They are led by quarterback Matt Viles (182 of 299, 2,578 yards, 24 touchdowns and six interceptions) and his band of receivers, and Jordan Zumwalt and the crew on defense.

La Habra (11-1) vs. Cypress (11-1)
Saturday, 7 p.m. at La Habra High
Outlook: The top-seeded Highlanders are back in the semifinals, with their eyes focused on a third consecutive CIF title.

Trabuco Hills (11-1) vs. Tustin (11-1)
Friday, 7 p.m. at Tustin High
Outlook: The bottom half of the Southwest Division bracket brings the third-seeded Mustangs to Tustin to face the second-seeded Tillers.
Trabuco Hills, which lost in the Southwest Division semifinals last year, enters on a nine-game winning streak. Over the past four games, the Mustangs are averaging 48.2 points a game and are allowing 6.5 points.

Garden Grove (12-0) vs. Norwalk (11-1)
Saturday, 7 p.m. at Excelsior Adult School
Outlook: The top-seeded Argonauts hit the road for their semifinal tilt against the fourth-seeded Lancers. It figures to be quite a challenge.
