His team competes in one of the toughest boys soccer leagues in the county, and he always seems to put together a demanding preseason schedule, so no one can accuse him of taking the easy road to success.
Rosary water polo center Noelle Herrera has committed to Sonoma State, Royals girls coach Mustafa Hassan reports.
Herrera has 14 goals in eight matches for a solid Rosary team (4-4).
A few other county girls have also committed to Sonoma State: Edison’s Jessica Becker and San Clemente’s Danielle Orras and Taylor Smith.

Troy water polo standout Katie Kammer has committed to Cal State Northridge, her father, Kirby, reports.
Kammer was one of Orange County’s more under-rated players and is an excellent addition for an impressive recruiting class for Northridge.
Coach Marcelo Leonardi came to Orange County this year and landed a powerful center in Marissa Young of Fountain Valley and a talented attacker in Alex Hoetker of Sunny Hills. Now, they Matadors have added Kammer.
A few of Northridge’s competitors in the Big West might regret losing out on this O.C. trio in seasons to come.

Fullerton senior linbacker Simon Poti (6-2, 208) has committed to San Jose State as a preferred walk-on, his mother, May, confirmed.
Poti was a first-team All-Freeway League and All-CIF Southwest Division pick in the fall.
Poti took a recruiting trip to San Jose State in January. Servite linebacker Matt Inman was on the same trip, and of course, later committed to Nevada as a preferred walk-on.
