Records: Huntington Beach 17-7, 8-1; Foothill 14-12, 8-1

Impact: The implications were large. The Knights, with a victory, would have been playing for the outright league title in their league finale. However, now the Knights and Oilers each need victories to claim a share. Foothill beat Huntington Beach in four games at the Oilers gym last time out, and were out to avenge that loss.

How it looked: Like everyone would be going home an hour earlier than they ended up doing. The Oilers were on fire to start the match, and it looked liked they had things handled midway through Game 3. That's when Dane Worley and company caught a spark, and grabbed the momentum.

The Knights got back into the match by spreading the attack around more, and getting contributions from everyone. The Oilers, who were so strong with their passing in the opening games, started to misconnect and opened the door for Foothill.

With Worley and his teammates pumped up, Foothill appeared the favorite to win Game. Yet, Huntington Beach didn't panic, stayed calmed and came through with great play in Game 5.

High five to...: Tyler Kulakowski. The junior middle blocker had a dominating performance, finishing with 14 kills and 8 blocks. The Oilers had two other players in double digit kills, but it was Kulakowski's knack for delivering the spectacular on the biggest points that stood out.

Unsung heroes: Charlie Condron and Zack Kimber. They worked well in tandem to set up the Oilers attack. Condron, who plays libero, makes passing look simple, which sets up Kimber, who plays setter, nicely for the second pass.

Tough luck award: Dane Worley. The Knights senior stud had 34 kills. He started slowly, but everyone in the gym knew it was only a matter of time before the storm struck. When this guys gets it going, it's scary to watch.
