The week-long early signing period just concluded, and there were many schools with multiple signees.
Foothill had this group …
Baseball – Drake Atlee – University of Pacific
Girls Basketball – Molly Greubel – University of California, Davis
Girls Basketball – Taylor Hirz – University of California, San Diego
Girls Lacrosse – Courtney Valdez – University of Oregon
Girls Volleyball – Katy Woodward – University of California, San Diego
Girls Water Polo – McKenna Mitchell – University of California, Irvine
Girls Water Polo – Jessie Porter – University of California, Santa Barbara
Softball – Jessica Madrid – Delaware State
Softball – Liana Ogata – University of Rhode Island
Softball – Alex Jarvis – verbal commitment – Dartmouth College
One athlete on this list I have seen play a couple of times is Atlee, a 6-foot-1 shortstop and he is a good one. He committed to Pacific when he was a sophomore at Pleasant Grove of Elk Grove. And, as usual, Foothill softball was well represented.

Foothill’s girls water polo team captured its Foothill Fall Fling preseason tournament with a 6-5 triumph against visiting Corona del Mar in the finals Sunday night.
Corona del Mar led, 5-4, but Foothill scored the final two goals in the fourth period.
Both teams were full strength. They also likely will be ranked 1-2 in the Orange County preseason poll — the order to be determined.
The Sea Queens defeated Foothill, 11-10, in July in the finals of the state high school tournament.

I had heard whispers for weeks that Foothill’s boys water polo program might be adding a foreign player, and now I have confirmation that the Knights have two.
Yes, it appears that at the very least, one of the strongest returning rosters in Orange County and Southern Section is getting deeper.
17. Foothill (9-3) – Graduation took many of the Knights’ top players from last year’s team, but the replacements could be good ones.
