Top-ranked Edison continued its dominance in the Sunset League on Friday night by shutting out Fountain Valley, 24-0, in the Battle for the Bell. The Edison defense recorded four sacks, and Davion Orphey had two touchdowns on 124 yards rushing.

Cypress defeated Pacifica, 33-20, on Thursday night to earned at least a share of the Empire League title. Running back Akeelie Muhammad scored five touchdowns while rushing for 247 yards. A series of coin flips took Edison and Newport Harbor out of the playoffs (and Newport Harbor had won its final three games, including victories over Esperanza and Los Alamitos, both of which made the playoffs via those coin flips).

Fourth-ranked Fountain Valley wasn't happy with its performance in a 37-32 victory over Newport Harbor on Thursday night. The Barons botched two punts, which led to safeties, and were heavily penalized in the contest.
