At Edison High:

(There a limited number of tickets available)

**Tickets will be made available for students, who weren’t able to purchase them last week, starting at 7 a.m.  Students will be able to purchase one ticket starting at 7 a.m.

**The remainder of the tickets will be put on sale Wednesday to Edison families only , with a maximum of two each, starting at 7 a.m. at the Financial Office.

At Fountain Valley High:
**Tickets will also go on sale today, starting at 7 a.m. for seniors and 2 p.m. for other students. One ticket per student.

**Students will also be able to purchase tickets Wednesday at 7 a.m.

**Parents of Fountain Valley students will be able to purchase two tickets, starting at 2 p.m.

**If there are any tickets remaining after the first two days, they will be made available Thursday after 2 p.m., but no more than two per customer.

Remember, there is a $8 parking charge at CS Fullerton.

Let's eliminate to the potential sites:

Angel Stadium -- It takes weeks to set up security, field prep, etc. for that one. Remember that the Angels were eliminated only this past Sunday. Before that, there was the chance for a World Series here, and Game 7 would be at the American League park on Nov. 5 -- one day before FV-Edison, and rain could push Game 7 back even further.

Cerritos College -- Servite's home field now, and Servite is there Nov. 6 vs. Orange Lutheran.

CS Fullerton -- Expensive to rent, but Edison is taking a look. Would it be worth it? Edison wants to make sure that its stated capacity indeed is 10,000. And then there is the parking fee of $10 for high school games there. And Edison really wants to keep the game close to the FV-Edison area.

Move the game to Saturday (11/7), so Cerritos College could be used? That has not been considered yet (Cerritos College plays an away game that day).

There are tickets on craigslist.com, and administrators at both schools are disappointed folks would try to cash in on their ability to get tickets that students could not get.

Fountain Valley and Edison tried to get the tickets to the right people, but that did not work. Demand might have been heavier than they anticipated. The schools had a fairly good plan in place, but it was not good enough. They made a mistake here, and that happens. We have good people at both schools, trying to do their best. Mater Dei and Servite have far better ticket-distribution programs, and I will detail those in the Fryer column that is at ocvarsity Thursday afternoon and in the Register in print on Friday.

I have calls in, and left messages, to both schools' principals to find out what actually happened with the ticket sales.

Craigslist has listings of FV-Edison tickets -- $40-$55. That's a lot of money for a high school football game (I saw Led Zeppelin for $9).

For the huge Servite-Mater Dei last week, at Santa Stadium (capacity 10,000) both schools had a very intricate, well-thought-out method for distributing tickets. That method will be in the Fryer column, online Thursday afternoon at ocvarsity.com and in the print OC Register on Friday.

No, they won't move it to a bigger stadium. (The capacity at OCC is 7,600). Cerritos College is taken (OLu-Servite). Cal State Fullerton is cost-prohibitive, and Angel Stadium, to play a high school game in that place, requires weeks of preparation.

Remember, the Angels were eliminated just a couple of days ago.

Losing that final game last season to Esperanza, then losing the coin flip that kept Edison out of the playoffs, provides plenty of motivation for what could be a fine 2009 season for the Chargers.

With all the craziness in the Sunset League, the 6-10 spots were hard for me to pick.

Here's some of my rationale:

LosAl - Grifs might have been the closest in Sunset to going 5-0; kicking game really hurt them

Edison - Hard to look past Mater Dei win; injuries hurt Chargers

FV - Beat NH and Los Al back-to-back, respectable against Tesoro

NH - Playing the best football in the Sunset League at end

SC - Played tight games with Tesoro, MV and beat a very good La Habra
