CIF-SS FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS: EAST VALLEY DIVISION

First round

ST. MARGARET’S (9-1) vs. AQUINAS of SAN BERNARDINO (6-4)
Where, when: St. Margaret’s High, Friday, 7 p.m.

Outlook: The Falcons finished second in the Ambassador League, two games behind top-seeded Ontario Christian. Romero Flores is the one to watch on offense. The senior running back has gained 2,002 yards with 21 touchdowns. He’s averaging 200 yards a game. He was topped 230 yards in each of his last four games. St. Margaret’s, the second seed in the division, started the season 3-0, before losing to Laguna Beach (Sept. 21). Since then, they have been one of highest-scoring teams in the county. The Tartans have won their last six games, averaging 57.3 points during that stretch. Defensively, St. Margaret’s has allowed just 78 points this season (7.8 average). Oscar Gomez leads the Tartans ground attack with 1,162 yards and 22 touchdowns. Quarterback Josh Davis has accounted for 30 touchdowns (15 rushing and passing).
