I debated all week, before I finally settled on Fullerton. .... FAIL.

Props to Pacifica.

Welcome to another edition of my final thoughts of the week.

Bruce Rollinson is one of a kind: Did anybody catch Rollinson's halftime interview during the MD-Bishop Amat game? It was classic Rollinson. If you ever have a chance to interview Rollinson, please do it. I'm not sure if you will ever have that opportunity, but do it anyway.

Speaking of the Monarchs: What a season. Beware of them next year.

Viles vs. Fajardo: Every year, there is always one position that creates havoc during our All-County meeting. One year it was what to do with Rashard Matthews (Saddleback). Should he go on defense or offense? Last year, it was Allan Bridgford vs. Robbie Picazo. We voted and I think the vote was 4-3. This year, I think we're headed for a Matt Viles v. Cody Fajardo argument. How can you separate the two? Sounds like a fight is on the horizon in the OCVarsity War Room.

Is the second time the charm? Dana Hills and Long Beach Poly certainly hope so. Both of those teams get a second chance against opponents they lost to early this season. Dana Hills lost to Edison and Long Beach Poly lost to Servite.

Checking in on Servite: Complete performance against San Clemente.

Bishop Amat has a true homefield advantage: I wouldn't want to go play at Bishop Amat. I wasn't there, but if it is anything as it seemed on TV, then that is a crazy place.

Mission Viejo wins, before the second round begins: Thanks to the coin flip, the Diablos will host the Notre Dame. That's a long trip that Diablos don't have to make.

Thank goodness for Keith Lawson: The senior running back rushed for 282 yards and scored five touchdowns to lead Beckman to a 35-28 first round victory over Laguna Beach. Monday should be "Keith Lawson Day" on the Beckman campus.

Southwest Division's 10-1 teams: La Habra, Cypress, Trabuco Hills and Tustin are all 10-1. They're all one victory away from the semifinals. Will all four get there?

The O.C. team of the first round: Goes out to Whittier Christian. The Heralds defeated fourth-seed Arroyo, 27-24 to advance to the second round.

See you next week, somewhere in the county.
