Joe Hoggatt will remain Canyon's baseball coach at least through the 2010 season, Hoggatt confirmed today via email. Hoggatt had lost his teaching position at Canyon during district budget reductions, but last week was offered a full schedule of classes and accepted. Hoggatt has been Canyon's baseball head coach for nine seasons.

Aaron Moore, who coached at Riverside Poly for 14 years, today was named baseball head coach at Los Alamitos. Moore, 42, will also teach physical education at Los Alamitos. He replaces Mark Clabough, who resigned after the 2009 season. Los Alamitos was 12-15 overall in '09 and finished fourth in the six-team Sunset League with a 5-10 league record.
Football: New coach at Century

Longtime assistant coach Ted Crego is the new varsity football head coach at Century. He replaces Jesse Gomez, who has moved on to new Yorba Linda High where Gomez will be an assistant football coach (former El Dorado head coach Jeff Bailey is the Yorba Linda head coach). Crego, 53, an alum of University High, has coached at Segerstrom and Century.
Century in 2008 was 2-8 overall and 0-5 in the Orange League. The Centurions' most recent playoffs appearance was in 2004.
