La Habra (9-1): The Highlanders are in search of their third consecutive CIF title. They won the Southern title in 2007 and last year's Southwest title.
Kennedy (5-5): The Fighting Irish advanced to the playoffs as an at-large team. Kennedy finished the regular season in a tie for third place in the Empire League. D.J. Boulton leads the rushing attack with 769 yards and eight touchdowns. He also has 457 receiving yards.

El Dorado (6-3-1): The Golden Hawks finished in second place in the Century League under first-year coach Shawn Racobs.
Villa Park (7-3): The Spartans finished third in the Century League and are making their first playoffs appearance since 2004. The Spartans lost two of their first three league games, but responded with a 14-7 victory over Canyon and 35-14 against El Modena.

Cypress (9-1): The Centurions went undefeated in the Empire League and enter the playoffs as the fourth seed. Running back Akeelie Muhammad has turned in an amazing regular season, rushing for 1,918 yards. He has scored 35 total touchdowns. Cypress has won eight consecutive games since a loss to Mater Dei in Week 2. During that span, the Centurions are averaging 44.2 points a game.

Troy (7-3): The Warriors return to the playoffs thanks to a third-place finish in the Freeway League. Troy pulled off a 21-14 victory over Sonora in the final game of the regular season to qualify. The running back duo of DeAngelo Bonner (1,072) and Justin Austin (919) have combined to rush for 1,991 yards and 25 touchdowns.

Quarterback A.J.Josue has completed 56 of 75 passes (74.7 percent) for 867 yards, six touchdowns and only one interception.

Savanna (7-3): The Rebels were picked to finish fifth in the Orange League, according to the preseason coaches poll. Thanks to Jeremiah Rideaux, the Rebels eventually ended up in a three-way tie for first place. They enter as the third seed from the Orange League after coin flips. Rideaux rushed for 1,245 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Fullerton (8-2): The Indians finished second in the Freeway League after losing to La Habra in the final game of the regular season.
Tustin (9-1): The Tillers advanced to the division finals last season. The offense starts with Anthony Wilkerson and it is a good starting point. Wilkerson leads the county in rushing with 1,993 yards. He has scored 27 rushing touchdowns. Tustin has been able to pass the ball more productively this season with quarterback Nick DiMaio. DiMaio has completed 42 of 67 passes for 756 yards, seven touchdowns and zero interceptions. Defensively, the Tillers allowed 35 points in their five Century League games.

Valencia (4-6): The Tigers are back in the playoffs for the 28th time in 29 years under coach Mike Marrujo. The Tigers finished in a tie for third with Kennedy in the Empire League. Thanks to a 17-14 victory over Kennedy, Oct. 29, the Tigers finished third.

SOUTHWEST DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Tustin (9-4) vs. La Habra (11-2)

Saturday, 2 p.m., at Angel Stadium

Outlook: With Ronnie Hillman, Joshua Quezada, Anthony Wilkerson and Ameer Webb on the field, this is likely to resemble a track meet.

In fact, at the rate that Tustin is scoring, La Habra might be hard-pressed to keep up. Tustin has scored 188 points in its three playoff games. Wilkerson has rushed for 639 yards in those three games.

La Habra gave up a ton of yards, 469 to be exact, in its semifinal game against Trabuco Hills. The Highlanders allowed 217 rushing. That’s not a good sign, especially when you have to face Double Wing T.

One thing that La Habra will have going for it will be the passing game, led by quarterback Randall Nygren. The Highlanders have struggled with the pass in previous games, so the key could be Nygren.

Then again, teams have been so far behind the Tillers in recent weeks that they have had to start passing by the second quarter. Nygren has completed 58.6 percent of his passes (112 of 191) for 1,645 yards and 23 touchdowns.

Quezada rushed for 207 yards last week and Hillman posted 120. They have combined for 2,672 rushing yards this season. Can this duo be stopped?

Wilkerson and Webb have combined for 3,190 yards. Can they be stopped?

This is going to be a wild game.
