Northwood boys and girls water polo coach Ed Carrera, who helped rebuild the Timberwolves’ boys program into an Orange County contender, has resigned, he confirmed.
The Timberwolves have hired Palos Verdes coach Chris Murin to replace him, Northwood athletic director Dean Toohey confirmed Thursday.
Carrera guided Northwood’s boys to the CIF-SS Division 2 semifinals in the fall. The Timberwolves fell to eventual runner-up Corona del Mar in the semifinals.
“I thought it was time for a change,” Carrera said of resignation. “I don’t know what that is yet but I have some things I’m looking at.”
