The medal matches should start at approximately 5 p.m.

Calvary Chapel has the overall team lead heading into the finals with 210 points, followed by El Modena (181), Lakewood (162.5). The Church Boyz have eight wrestlers who have already sealed a spot in next week's Masters Meet.

Dean O'Bourke (103), Tigran Adzhemyan (152), Morgan McIntosh (171), Taylor Warden (189) and William Knowles (215) are in the finals. Andrew Schulte (112), Peter Palacios (119) and Lucas Keene (160) are all in third-place matches.

There are some interesting matches tonight. Michael Vargas (Buena Park) and Kevin Barton (El Modena) will face off in the finals at 125. Vargas won an earlier meeting this season, 12-3.

Jorge Gutierrez (El Dorado) and Jesus Preciado (Long Beach Poly) will meet for the second time this weekend. Gutierrez defeated Preciado Friday night. Tonight, they're meeting for third place.

Also at 189 pounds, David Ellzey (El Dorado) will meet Warden of Calvary Chapel. Ellzey defeated Warden, 1-0 at Five Counties.

Other questions: Will Charles Chavez get his third CIF title? Can anybody or machine stop Aaron La Farge? Is this the week Jose Lopez (A.K.A the baddest heavyweight in the Southern Section) gets stopped?

stay tuned

Wrestlers have returned and are now going through warmups
