SATURDAY’S CIF-SS GIRLS WATER POLO FINALS

All games at William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center, Irvine

Girls water polo: Mater Dei can’t solve Santa Barbara, Trabucco

December 27th, 2012, 4:51 pm by

SANTA ANA Mater Dei’s girls water polo team remained a work in-progress Thursday but still provided glimpses that its final product could be special.

The Monarchs welcomed back high-scoring attacker Brianna Daboub from a shoulder injury as they played host to Santa Barbara in a nonleague match.

Daboub gave the Monarchs another scoring threat but Cal-bound goalie Maddie Trabucco, pictured left, had the final word, making 16 saves to help the Dons post a 14-8 victory.

More info to come.
