Signing day: Brethren’s 7-5 Ndiaye to UCI

November 14th, 2012, 2:01 pm by

Brethren Christian 7-foot-5 senior basketball player Mamadou Ndiaye signed today with UC Irvine.

Ndiaye averaged 24 points, 14 rebounds and five blocked shots a game last year.

He has improved a great deal over the past couple of years. Ndiaye said in a Brethren statement, “I chose UC Irvine because I felt very comfortable at the University and with the coaching staff.  It is an excellent school that will help me develop as a student and basketball player. ”

Ndiaye is a native of Senegal. Brethren has kept the big buy as low profile as possible, per the Ndiaye family wishes. Thus, there was no announcement that Ndiaye would be signing today.
