Site, time: Valencia High, Friday, 7 p.m.

Outlook: The Inland Empire is seeing great growth in the quality of its football programs. Santiago is part of that growth. The Sharks beat Servite two years ago, and this year they are ranked No. 7 in the Inland Division. They will give Esperanza an interesting opening-night test. The Aztecs will, as usual, run the ball effectively with Jared Moore at running back and one of the better offensive lines in recent years at a school famous for its linemen. Esperanza should be fine defensively, too.

Winner: Esperanza
