Canyon football coach Brent McKee underwent surgery Thursday to have a kidney removed. Doctors feared that the kidney had a cancerous growth inside of it.
According to an email from assistant football coach Chris Anderson, McKee’s surgery lasted two hours.
McKee was able to sleep on his side last night, and he has already been out of his bed and able to sit in a chair.
The goal is for McKee to be discharged Sunday morning.
Anderson will serve as the interim head coach during McKee’s absence.
