Football: All-league teams — we need them

Athletic directors, league coordinators:

Please send your all-league football teams to sfryer@ocregister.com.

We publish those on or around Christmas Day, after the state championship games have been played.

Help us help you get your athletes the recognition they earned.

All-league teams also are essential to the process of selecting the All-Orange County teams.

IMPORTANT — All-league teams should include players positions and class years.

So the OCVarsity crew had its first meeting to discuss the All-County football team today and decided … well, we decided that we’re not sure yet on who should be the offensive player of the year and the defensive player of the year.

We’ll be finalizing our decisions soon, but now it’s time for you to let us know what you think.

Who do you think should be the offensive player of the year?

Who gets your pick as the defensive player of the year?

Use the comments field below to make the case for your favorite. As always, remember that we’re talking about high school kids here, so keep it positive. There’s nothing to be accomplished by ripping another player.
