Edison quarterback/punter Alek Torgersen (6-3, 210) has committed to Penn, his father, Tom, reports.
Penn captured the Ivy League title this past season, winning its last four games.
Torgersen helped led Edison to its first CIF-Southern Section title since 1985 this past season as the Chargers claimed the Southwest Division. He was selected the CIF-Southwest Division offensive player of the year.
The hard-nosed dual-threat senior was recruited to Penn to play quarterback, Tom said.
Edison quarterback Alek Torgersen threw a touchdown on the final play to lift the Chargers past Loyola, 27-26, in an exciting quarterfinal here at the Air Strike passing tournament.
Edison plays Long Beach Poly in one semifinal.
Los Alamitos out-dueled St. John Bosco, 40-34, in the quarterfinal. The Griffins take on Mater Dei in the other semifinal.
