The medal rounds are done and the process of getting things set up for the finals are underway. There's tractors, trailers, kids rolling up matches ...this place is insane.There are seven county medalists (excluding Morgan McIntosh) and here they are ....

Tapped Out: The final matches are set

First, Mitch Newcomer is going for third place after defeating Nathan Zarate of Selma at 135s. Anthony Duarte (171) and Tank Knowles (215) are going for third as well.

Tigran Adzhemyan is gunning for fifth.

Juan Jaime (112), Bobby Morales (119), Kyle Chene (140) are all going for seventh.

Tapped Out: Arsen and his cup of coffee

Have you ever seen Calvary Chapel coach Arsen Aleksanyan without a cup of coffee? Think about that. While he was coaching Tigran Adzhemyan in his 152-pound final against Chris Urquizo, he sat the cup behind his chair. I see it.

Tapped Out: Newcomer v. Snell, part II

Mitch Newcomer defeated Conrad Snell of Poway in the finals at Five Counties. The two met again with a trip to the state finals on the table.

Tapped Out: 1985 was a long time ago

According to Fountain Valley coach Brad Woodbury, the last time the Barons had a state placer was 1985. Well, Anthony Duarte just took care of that. Duarte pinned Zach Belway in about 20 seconds or so it seemed.

Tapped Out: Juan Jaime saves his best for late

Juan Jaime (Laguna Hills) snapped a scoreless tie against Marc Collier with a three-point near fall to get a 3-0 decision and earned him a spot somewhere in the top 8 in the state at 112s.

Meanwhile, across the gym, Jaime's teammate Bobby Morales (119) defeated Chase Aura, 8-3.

That's three state placers for Laguna Hills. As you know Mitch Newcomer is in the semis at 135.

Tapped Out: Wardrobe changes for the refs?
