That’s all for FryDay Night …

Friday, December 7th, 2007 by sfryer

Trabuco Hills-El Dorado gameThat was a nail-biter game for both, the El Dorado-Trabuco Hills game … these tight games sometimes come down to special teams play, and that was the case again. El Dorado was 1 for 2 on extra-point kick attempts, and Trabuco was 0 for 2. And that was the difference on the scoreboard.

Great defenses by both teams. And that weird goalline call, when El Dorado was poised to score, did not come into play in the final result.

OK … that’s all for this FryDay Night … and perhaps this the final FryDay Night gig of the season. I doubt Orange County will have a team at the Home Depot Center for the California State Bowl games.

I hope you enjoyed this.

So, once again — thanks for hanging out with me!

Must have been the Mohawks …

There are a lot of Mohawk haircuts on those El Dorado kids down there … they are shaking hands with the Trabuco players …

A great game. Trabuco Hills played very well. That El Dorado defense was just a little bit better. But the Mustangs have nothing to be ashamed of. They played in December — and not many teams do that.

A successful season for both teams.

Two seconds left …

Christian Lepore of TH lines up for a 52-yard field goal attempt. It is windy here.

The snap — the hold is fumbled … Lepore picks up the ball and runs … he has some room … but the Hawks close quickly, and Lepore is hit .. the ball is loose — ED recovers the ball, and wins the game.

13-12, El Dorado wins and repeats as Southwest Division champions.

A couple of big completions …

The first of 15 yards to Mooney, then one of 30-plus yards to Gabe Lemon, on a great leaping catch.

TH QB Brandt spiked the ball with six seconds to go, at the ED 42. ED is hanging on to a 13-12 lead here. TH still has one timeout left.

On the kickoff …

TH’s Halloran got to the 19, where he was stopped by ED’s McNiff. Nice tackle … 20 secoinids to go.

… then steps up into the pocket, and runs for it — and into the end zone.

The pointt after by Chase Lansford — very high, very straight — good!

A handoff to Deleon, who goes off of left tackle, and he is stopeped at the 5 by TH LB Chris Mandas, who has been very active and very effective tonight.

Timeout, ED. The Hawks have one TO left.

Kane Wilson runs for a first down …

At the TH 8, with 41 seconds left … and Trabuco calls as first down.

El Dorado has two time outs left, and trails 12-6, as the Hawks have a first down at the Trabuco 8.

That Pacifica-Cypress game went down to the wire, and this one is going to do the same.

Hey …. if ED scores –go for two??
