The week-long early signing period just concluded, and there were many schools with multiple signees.
Foothill had this group …
Baseball – Drake Atlee – University of Pacific
Girls Basketball – Molly Greubel – University of California, Davis
Girls Basketball – Taylor Hirz – University of California, San Diego
Girls Lacrosse – Courtney Valdez – University of Oregon
Girls Volleyball – Katy Woodward – University of California, San Diego
Girls Water Polo – McKenna Mitchell – University of California, Irvine
Girls Water Polo – Jessie Porter – University of California, Santa Barbara
Softball – Jessica Madrid – Delaware State
Softball – Liana Ogata – University of Rhode Island
Softball – Alex Jarvis – verbal commitment – Dartmouth College
One athlete on this list I have seen play a couple of times is Atlee, a 6-foot-1 shortstop and he is a good one. He committed to Pacific when he was a sophomore at Pleasant Grove of Elk Grove. And, as usual, Foothill softball was well represented.

Cressita Bowman, who was the Register’s girls lacrosse coach of the year last season, has been named new lacrosse coach at Mater Dei, officials announced Wednesday.
“We are tremendously fortunate to have Cressita lead our girls lacrosse program. Her passion for the sport, competitiveness, and leadership qualities can, most certainly, provide the potential for great success,” said Phil Bellomo, Mater Dei Athletic Director.
Bowman coached at Santa Margarita last year, leading the Eagles to their first Trinity League title and into the U.S. Lacrosse Southern Section Division 1 finals. It was her first year as a head coach.
