Cross country: Trabuco Hills, Hollander compete at Nike Cross Nationals

The Trabuco Hills boys team and Marina senior Laura Hollander closed out their seasons by competing at the 2011 Nike Cross Nationals Saturday at Portland Meadow Race Track in Portland, Oregon.

The Mustangs, who claimed the Division 1 state title last weekend in Fresno, scored 322 points and finished 14th in the boys championship race.

Senior Jared Hazlett (16:17) was the top finisher for Trabuco Hills.

Cross country: Gaudreau, Durham advance to Foot Locker Finals

Two of the county’s best distance runners are among 40 runners from across the nation that will compete next Saturday in San Diego at the 2011 Footlocker National Cross Country Championships.

Cross Country: Trabuco Hills, Marina’s Hollander qualify for Nike XC Nationals

Big performances at the CIF State Cross Country Championships helped the Trabuco Hills boys cross country team and Marina senior Laura Hollander advance to the 2011 Nike Cross Nationals, which will be held Saturday at Portland Meadows in Portland, Oregon.

Trabuco Hills qualified automatically  for the Nationals after winning the Division 1 state title, their first since 2006. The Mustangs had the fastest overall team time of all teams in all five divisions.

Girls cross country: San Clemente claims Division 1 state title

A week after winning their first CIF-SS Division 1 title, the San Clemente Tritons took home a bigger victory Saturday.

The Tritons won their first ever CIF Division 1 state title Saturday at the 2011 CIF Cross Country Championships.

San Clemente (87 points) had four girls score among the top 25 runners, defeating second place Vista Murrieta (105 points).

Girls cross country: JSerra defends Division 4 state title

The first race of the 2011 CIF State Cross Country Championships has just ended and the JSerra Lions cross country team is back on top in Division 4.

The Lions repeat as state champions behind a strong pack running effort, as they placed four runners among the top 30 team-scoring runners and totaled 102 points.
