Final: Windward 65, Mater Dei 62

February 3rd, 2012, 11:01 pm by

Windward of Los Angeles, the No. 1-ranked team in California, beat Mater Dei, the state’s No. 2 team, in an entertaining game in the Nike Extravaganza at Mater Dei.

Mater Dei took a 3-point shot in the corner that was blocked by Windward’s 6-foot-7 Imani Stafford. She is very good player, really moves extraordinarily well for a 6-7 girls basketball player. We don’t see many girls players of her size who move so fluidly. The rest of that Windward team is excellent, too.

Mater Dei’s Nirra Fields is a heck of a player, too. She has perfect shooting form on her jumper. MD’s Jordan Adams, well, she played tough and smart as always.
