Boys Track and Field: Cooper to Air Force Academy

Mater Dei senior Matt Cooper

boys_track_icon15Mater Dei senior pole vaulter Matt Cooper has signed a letter of intent to attend the Air Force Academy.

Cooper is the defending Trinity League and CIF-SS Division II champion from a season ago.

He also finished seventh at the state championships last season.

Currently, he is tied for the fourth best clearance in the county this season at 15 feet, 1 inch.

High school sports suspended in Texas due to swine flu

Boys Track and Field: Pedrogo repeats as champ in 110 hurdles

boys_track_icon14Mission Viejo junior Devalle Pedrogo was a heavy favorite in the 110 hurdles and he didn't disappoint.

The current county leader repeated as county champ with a time of 14.48.

Michael Miela of Trabuco Hills (15.08) was second and Jimmy Martin of Santa Margarita (15.21) placed third.
