Also, here’s an explanation on how to prevent your comments from showing up on Facebook.

Facebook commenting coming to the OCVarsity blog

October 4th, 2011, 1:24 pm by

UPDATE: This change will not take place on Thursday evening, but will instead take place early next week.

Starting Thursday evening, you will need a Facebook account to comment on the OCVarsity blog. To see how this works, see any article on OCVarsity.com, where Facebook commenting has been in place for some time now. The change will no longer allow anonymous commenting and will tie users’ comments to their Facebook identities. Facebook has recently developed a series of privacy controls allowing others to see only what you want them to see.

Also making the switch is our parent site, OCRegister.com.  To learn more about the reason for the switch, read this article by Orange County Register Editor Ken Brusic. And you can check out the Facebook commenting FAQ.

University vs. Harvard-Westlake

When: Wednesday, 12 p.m.

Outlook: University has to be the favorite because there hasn’t been a single time this season when they haven’t been. Sophomore Gage Brymer is coming off a win in the CIF-SS individual tournament, and senior Kona Luu and Drew Dawson took home the doubles title. Harvard-Westlake is good enough to be a test based on its wins over Corona del Mar and Palos Verdes in the last two rounds, but University seems in position to win it’s second straight CIF-SS team title.

Valencia also has a stud singles player in Jonathan Hammel, who lost in the round of 16 during the CIF-SS individual tournament. The two teams have not met this year.
