Boys Soccer: Valencia adavances in summer league playoffs

boys_soccer_iconFULLERTON - Valencia had one goal during Monday's quarterfinal playoff match: Attack the Brea Olinda defenders early and often, using as many different players as possible. And that they did.

At first the Wildcats' keeper was up to the task, turning away two point-blank shots, both taken by Valencia's Henry Marquez.

Boys Soccer: Fullerton, Servite play to tie

boys_soccer_iconFULLERTON - Finally. After eight games and more than 490 minutes, someone was finally able to break through Fullerton's defense and score a goal in the Sunny Hills Summer League.

Servite actually managed to score two goals in Wednesday's pool play game. But in a span of three minutes in the second half, the Indians knocked in a pair of their own, and the two teams would eventually play to a 2-2 tie.

Boys Soccer: Fullerton posts another shutout

boys_soccer_iconFULLERTON - It might not be the prettiest brand of soccer, this kick ball game that Fullerton has a tendency to play, but it has definitely turned the Indians into one of the toughest teams to beat in the Sunny Hills Soccer League.

Backed by a first-half goal from Luis Ramirez, Fullerton posted its fourth shuout of the summer, defeated defending CIF-SS champion Valencia, 1-0, in a pool play game on Tuesday.

Soccer: Blues claim two Far West titles, West Coast one

girls_soccer_blog15The Southern California Blues' 15 and 16-and-under girls soccer teams and West Coast Futbol Club's 14-and-under boys were among the squads that claimed titles at the U.S. Western Regional Youth Soccer Championships on Sunday in Lancaster.

West Coast also claimed titles in boys and girls 13-and-under divisions.

The teams now head to the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships, July 21-26, in Lancaster, Mass.

Boys Soccer: San Clemente wins in Watts
