Brad Reppert has been named new boys varsity lacrosse coach at Santa Margarita, according to Vince Garcia, director of lacrosse at the school.
Reppert has been an assistant coach for the Eagles for the past two seasons.
He played professionally with the Los Angeles Riptide in 2007, the San Francisco Dragons in 2006 and the Anaheim Storm in 2004.
Reppert was a Division I All-American player and captain of his Towson University team in 2002 and a North- South All-Star Selection.
“I am extremely fortunate to be the new head lacrosse coach at Santa Margarita Catholic High School,” he said in a statement. “In getting to know most of the parents, players and staff over the past couple of years, this was an easy decision for me.
“It is imperative that we distinguish a winning culture in the SM lacrosse comunity from the top to the bottom. The Eagles will make some noise this year and achieve our goal to become one of the top programs in Orange County and gain some national recognition.” Read the rest of this entry »

Michael Keasey, a senior midfielder for Corona del Mar, has committed to play lacrosse for Yale University, according to Sea King Coach G.W. Mix.
Keasey was a second team all-county player last year for the Sea Kings.
He will not be signing a letter of intent as Ivy League schools do not offer athletic scholarships, Mix noted.

San Clemente midfielder Bennett Jonas will sign a national letter on Wednesday to play lacrosse at Ohio State University, his father, Jeff, said Tuesday.
He has been offered a scholarship to play lacrosse at Ohio State in 2012.
Jonas has started on the varsity all three years and last year earned first team all-league and all-county honors. He is also a corner back on the varsity football team.
Jonas was offered scholarships from Syracuse University, Denver University and Stony Brook University and a number of other Division 1 programs, his father said. Read the rest of this entry »

National letter of intent signing day is Wednesday for boys and girls lacrosse and OCVarsity would like to publish news about the signings.
If you are a lacrosse athlete or coach, please drop us an email with information on where the athlete is signing along with some background such as stats and all-league honors.
In addition, we’re interested in publishing photos of signing ceremonies on Wednesday. Please email the information on the signings today and the pictures on Wednesday in jpg attachments to tburt@ocregister.com so we can share the news.

Foothill boys lacrosse will be recognized by the Tustin Unified School District Board of Education tonight at 6:30 p.m.
The ceremony will take place in the Board Room of the District Administration Center (300 South C Street, Tustin).
The Knights won their fifth consecutive Southern Section title this year.
