Calhoun's Games to Watch: Edison vs. Fountain Valley

Outlook: Tickets went on sale last week and were sold out in a few hours. Then the game was moved from Orange Coast College to a larger location (Titan Stadium) and tickets went back on sale to fill 10,000-seat stadium.

Both teams are undefeated and the outright lead in the Sunset League race is on the line.

Is there any way that this game will live up to the hype?

Calhoun's Games to Watch: Servite vs. Orange Lutheran

No. 2 Servite (7-1, 3-0) vs. No. 6 Orange Lutheran (5-3, 3-0)
Friday, 7:30 p.m. at Cerritos College

Outlook: The Lancers appear to be hitting their stride after a slow start. The Lancers opened the season losing three of their first four games. Since then, Orange Lutheran is on a four-game winning streak.

The Lancers pulled out a 24-17 road victory last week against St. John Bosco. Damani Wilson rushed for 144 yards and Chance Baker had 83.

Calhoun's Games to Watch: Mission Viejo vs. San Clemente

No. 2 Mission Viejo (8-0, 3-0) vs. No. 12 San Clemente (5-3, 2-1)
Friday, 7 p.m. at San Clemente High

Outlook: The high-scoring Diablos continue their quest toward a South Coast League title as they visit the Tritons. Mission Viejo has scored 60 and 70 points in each of their previous two games, both victories, in case you were wondering.

The Diablos are averaging 45 points a game. They have been held under 40 points only twice this season (Loyola and Capistrano Valley).

Outlook: The Tillers are averaging 41 points in three Century League victories. El Dorado has only allowed seven points in its first three league games.

Outlook: The playoffs begin this week for the Griffins, Aztecs and Newport Harbor. All of these teams are tied at 1-2 and only one is guaranteed a berth in the playoffs.

Someone might have to sweat out the at-large berth.

Calhoun's Games to Watch: Cypress vs. Pacifica

Outlook: The top spot in the Empire League will be up for grabs when these two get together. Cypress is on a six-game winning streak since a 21-16 loss to Mater Dei back in Week 2. During the streak, Cypress is averaging 47.6 points a game.

Outlook: Fourteen games and counting. Laguna Hills, in its final year in the Pacific Coast League, brings its 14-game unbeaten streak into contest against the Vaqueros.
