The Woodbridge girls tennis team didn't beat Northwood two weeks ago, but the Warriors came away with a feeling that they could.
Northwood defeated Woodbridge on games, 69-60, after the teams were tied in sets, 9-9, the first time the two squads met on Oct. 7.
The Warriors carried their optimism into Thursday afternoon's rematch at Northwood and turned it into an 11-7 upset win that all but wrapped up a share of the Sea View League title with the Timberwolves.

Now is the time that Damian Calhoun has been saying all season long that he will take the lead in the staff picks contest - the the start of league play.
But the truth is, my only real competition is Danny Albano and Stevie Fryer (got that from your brother at the Tustin-Foothill football game a year ago).
Here's how I'm going to maintain my lead:

The University girls tennis team took a break from Pacific Coast League play but not from tough competition.
The Trojans, ranked third in Orange County, took part in the National All-American Tournament last weekend. It took on No. 9 Laguna Beach on Wednesday afternoon at home.
