The first top 10 vote of the season is difficult in any sport, but especially so for baseball. Teams beat better teams because the better team went with its No. 4 starting pitcher, or brought up a JV guy who won’t pitch in a varsity league game, etc.

2. Fountain Valley (6-0, in Loara tournament final)

3. Mater Dei (1-1, split DHer with St. Mary’s of Stockton)

4. Cypress (5-1, swept DHer vs. El Toro, lost to FV)

5. Orange Lutheran (lost to Capo in Elks final)

6. El Toro (2-4)

7. Canyon (4-0, advanced to Loara final)

8. Los Alamitos (3-1, def. San Clemente, lost to Canyon)

9. San  Clemente (6-1, def. Trabuco Hills, Santa Margarita, El Dorado)

10. Huntington Beach (5-2, def. JSerra, swept DHer vs. Ocean View)
