Tesoro today announced that Matt Poston is its varsity football head coach.
Poston has been head coach at Capistrano Valley the past three seasons, and in 2012 led the Cougars to their first league championship since 1996. Poston had been an assistant coach at Tesoro for several years, beginning in 2001.
At Tesoro he replaces Brian Barnes, who had been placed on administrative leave late in the ’12 season and then was permanently removed from the position in January.
Tesoro was 7-4 overall and 1-3 in the South Coast League this past season.
